What is a DDP?

Disc Description Protocol (DDP) is a digital delivery method for a CD master. It contains the audio files, CD text, as well as data that describes the layout of the CD. From this information your master can be sent to the CD replicator without risk of disc or transmission errors and be delivered safely over the internet.

DDP’s can be created and auditioned by a variety of software and most mastering facilities have their own DDP player that you can download.

Is DDP for me?

DDP is far and away the best method if you plan to have physical CD’s manufactured, but you don’t need a DDP for an online only release.
